No I Dies Lone

What We Exercise

No One Dies Lonely (NODA) is a program that offers companionship and support to patients who are nearing death. NODA volunteers provide compassionate presence to individuals who have no family or close friends to sit with them at the stop of life. At Johns Hopkins, many unaccompanied deaths occur each year in the infirmary. Through this program, we tin can provide a compassionate presence for patients. NODA is administered jointly through Section of Spiritual Intendance and Chaplaincy and each hospital's volunteer function.

Johns Hopkins employees wishing to volunteer with NODA should refer to the links beneath. Most volunteer training can be completed online, followed past an orientation and specialized NODA session where volunteers can learn what to expect during a vigil.

  • Sign up to volunteer at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
  • Sign up to volunteer at Suburban Hospital (login available to Suburban employees merely).

Once your training is complete, you will be issued a volunteer badge and be placed on the notification list when a new patient is accepting vigils. You can decide your own notification preference for email, text message or both. About campuses take a self-schedule feature where you lot tin can sign upwards for a vigil when you are bachelor.

Chaplains are available to you for support if needed. More data can be found at noda.jhu.edu.
